Working closely with the firms Technology Policy Lead, the ASG Tech Policy Practice Associate Partner will possess expertise in a range and industry, government, regulatory issues, trade, investment and business trends in key global markets. The candidate for the position will also be co-leading complex engagements with clients developing artificial intelligence capabilities or deploying AI across business operations and should have a firm grasp of the current state of AI governance discussions in key markets. Ideally, the candidate also has a grasp of broad range of technology regulatory issues in China, the US, the EU, India and other key markets of high interest to clients. The successful candidate will interact directly with clients, leading in the development of research products and client strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manages DGA ASG client team members to produce agreed upon products.Sets clear strategy and expectations for deliverables to team members.
  • Participate significantly in client management, impact, and retention. Responsible for managing the overall client relationship, serving as the primary contact for client teams, as assigned, helping to develop and implement strategy on clients, and ensures priorities are met.
  • Develops new business opportunities through networks, attending industry events and panels, and working with the firms business development team.
  • Broadens ASG networks and expertise and raises the firms profile through participation with associations, think tanks, and policy advocacy platforms. Demonstrates thought leadership though writing for journals, doing media interviews and/or serving on panels as appropriate.
  • Supports team members' professional development and works to identify additional development opportunities.
  • Works with the practice lead to help generate new client prospects, and opportunities for growing existing client relationships.
  • Works to cultivate, integrate, and manage advisory network members, engaging them effectively in client service and business development.
  • Participates in annual practice planning and ongoing monitoring of goals for growth and P&L.
  • Monitors practice/firm goals and P&L, either as a practice manager, lead, or cross-practice expert.
  • Utilizes and expands personal network of relationships to cultivate potential clients and creatively build new business.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience, including time working on technology policy issues and/or living in other regions and key countries. Government or industry experience in technology policy, finance, or commercial industries is a plus.
  • Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, business, or engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or similar field, or equivalent experience, with a graduate degree in related field preferred.
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and analytical skills, as well as ability to think critically about research scope and content.
  • Self-starting, with the ability to operate on both long-term and short-term projects without direct supervision, and a can-do attitude.
  • Creativity, excellent writing skills, and an ability to work well within a fast-paced and energetic team.
