Pediatric ICU Anesthesiologist (Dallas)

The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management is seeking an outstanding Anesthesiologist for Children (AFC) faculty position with a strong interest in pursuing an academic career. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
We prefer candidates who are Fellowship Trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists with advanced fellowship and subspecialty training. Responsibilities include direct patient care in pediatric anesthesiology, along with teaching and supervising pediatric anesthesiology fellows, anesthesiology residents, and other trainees. Advanced specialty training or experience is preferred.
Opportunities exist for goal-oriented research within this academic practice. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment and be BC/BE with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). If not Board certified at hire, the candidate will be appointed as an Assistant Instructor, with continued employment contingent upon obtaining ABA certification within two years. Pediatric Anesthesiology subspecialty certification must be obtained within two years of completing subspecialty training. While faculty appointments are in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Management at UT Southwestern, primary practice is based at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. The division is a cohesive group of anesthesiologists, CNRAs, and AA-Cs. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than full-time schedules.
