The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management seeks an outstanding Anesthesiologist for Children (AFC) faculty with a strong interest in pursuing an academic career. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Fellowship Trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist (advanced fellowship and subspecialty training are preferred). Responsibilities include direct patient care in pediatric anesthesiology with teaching and supervision of pediatric anesthesiology fellows, anesthesiology residents, and other trainees. Advanced specialty training or experience is preferred. Opportunities are available in goal-oriented research in this academic practice. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Childrens Medical Center is a cohesive group of anesthesiologists, CNRAs, and AA-Cs. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time position.
Qualifications
- Must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment.
- Board Certification (BC) / Board Eligibility (BE) with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
- If not Board Certified, the candidate will be appointed as Assistant Instructor at hire, with continued employment contingent upon ABA certification within two years.
- Pediatric Anesthesiology subspecialty certification must be obtained within two years of subspecialty training completion.
Practice Location & Appointments
Pediatric Anesthesiologists hold faculty appointments in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center; their primary practice is based at Childrens Medical Center in Dallas.
