Merchandising Director, Ensemble Performing Arts-Job Description
Ensemble Performing Arts is hiring for an experienced, passionate, and creative Merchandising Director at the National Educational Music Company (NEMC) to shape the musical instrument retail strategy at our growing and varied portfolio of music schools and retail stores. The role centers on the design and execution of retail infrastructure programs that align with corporate goals and values while collaborating with marketing and sales teams to optimize product offerings, allowing us to drive revenue growth and customer lifetime value. This position will be a fully-remote, full-time, salaried role that includes a modest amount of required travel, and will report to the President, Rentals at Ensemble Performing Arts.

The Merchandising Director will be responsible for: Working with President, Rentals, President, Schools, and COO to design and implement Ensemble's MI retail strategy and identity Assortment design and planning of multiple retail concepts Analyzing sales data and market trends to make informed purchase decisions Help guide the installation of new POS architecture and ERP integration Nurturing vendor relationships and negotiating favorable terms and pricing Managing inventory levels and optimizing inventory turns Overseeing visual merchandising to enhance product presentation Evaluating product performance and executing markdown strategies Representing NEMC and Ensemble in travel to NAMM, NASMD, our locations, and others An ideal candidate will:
Have significant experiences in retail, music, music education, and/or related fields Have a deep understanding of inventory controls and enterprise-level buying Have a positive and resourceful attitude Thrive in and drive change in a growth environment Have strong time-management, prioritization, and multitasking skills Be highly organized and detail-oriented Work well as part of a team Show decisiveness and good judgment Think outside the box to understand and solve problems The compensation range for this position will be $120,000-$150,000 per year with 15% performance bonus opportunity. Full-time employees are eligible for PTO, a 401K plan with employer match, and health, vision, and dental insurance.
