Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Mixing Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing product batches by following detailed mix instructions.
This role requires the ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions to ensure product quality and
production flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately weigh and measure raw materials according to mix tickets, following a precise, step-by-step process. Handle and transport pre-blended materials using a bucket elevator system. Weigh liquid ingredients into heavy containers, carry them up a small set of steps, and carefully add them to the mixer. Operate the mixer and extruder, ensuring both run according to established procedures. Monitor the mixing cycle, discharge finished mixes, and transport product to the extruder. Perform quality checks to verify that chews meet all required specifications. Set up, operate, and maintain production line equipment to support consistent production flow. Conduct basic system cleaning and routine equipment maintenance. Read, understand, and follow detailed mix instructions and documentation processes. Accurately weigh and document raw material quantities for production records. Monitor the production process and promptly report any issues or deviations to the supervisor. Complete end-of-shift production reports detailing output and activities. Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, and quality standards throughout all processes. Requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year of production experience or similar preferred. EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
High School diploma or GED preferred. ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:
Math Skills Read/write English. Operate various tools. Ability to work in a team environment & be cross trained in packaging, mixing & blending various powders No more than six infractions in six months Work Hired shift: 2nd Shift 3:30pm-2am M-Thurs.
(2 weeks of training on 1st shift M-Thurs 5:30am-4pm) Arrive to work on time and work the entire shift as scheduled PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, balance, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. May be required to independently and frequently lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs. Must have reliable transportation to work at one or both locations during assigned shift. Hand dexterity and strength. Overtime is required, including weekends. May be required to work a flexible schedule. Work in all seasons within a dusty environment. No allergies to raw materials i.e....wheat, alfalfa, soy or peanut butter.
