Job Description

Cycle Zone Powersports is seeking a motivated and high-potential Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with our current General Manager in preparation for a full transition into the GM role within 1-2 years. The ideal candidate is a driven leader with a desire to learn all aspects of dealership operations, from sales and service to finance, staffing, and OEM relationships.

This is not just a management role-it's a structured path to becoming the next General Manager of a growing and successful multi-line powersports dealership.

Position Description

Leadership & Operations

Learn and support all departments: Sales, Service, Parts, F&I, and Administration. Work directly with the General Manager to understand daily operations and long-term strategy. Develop and implement dealership-wide performance goals, processes, and accountability. Support department managers in hitting targets and resolving operational issues. Lead by example and promote a high-performance, customer-first culture. Staff Management

Assist in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of all dealership staff. Help create and manage employee schedules across departments. Conduct performance reviews, coach staff, and resolve internal conflicts when needed. Motivate and develop department leaders to ensure strong leadership throughout the store. Sales, Finance & Inventory Oversight

Monitor and drive sales performance across new and used units, F&I, and service. Participate in monthly financial reviews with ownership and department heads. Help manage inventory levels, aging, pricing strategy, and ordering in partnership with managers. Work with the Sales Manager and F&I team to ensure profitable deal structures and compliance. Vendor & OEM Relations

Manage and negotiate with OEM partners regarding programs, inventory, incentives, and co-op funds. Build strong working relationships with key vendors and suppliers. Ensure compliance with OEM guidelines, branding, and reporting requirements. Customer Experience & Facility

Oversee customer satisfaction strategies across all departments. Handle high-level customer complaints or escalations with professionalism. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming facility. Training & Development

Complete cross-training in each department to understand key workflows and KPIs. Attend industry trainings and OEM meetings as needed. Lead internal meetings, training sessions, and performance updates. Position Requirements

5+ years of experience in a dealership or related business, with leadership responsibilities. Strong business acumen and understanding of profit and loss management. Experience managing employees and working across departments. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. High level of integrity, accountability, and adaptability. Willingness to learn and work hands-on in all areas of the dealership. Experience working with OEMs, floorplans, and dealership software preferred. Available to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays. Valid driver's license.
