The Parks, Arts, & Recreation Department of the City of Auburn is seeking a

Bike Program Recreation Assistant

to join our team!

This is a grant-funded, limited-term position. The duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the planning and implementation of events and recreation programs as outlined in a grant agreement with Cascade Bicycle Club to plan and implement a bicycle education program for youth; providing support related to special events and recreation programs; and preparing and takedown of facilities/rooms for program activities and events. The incumbent may be required to work flexible schedules, including some evenings and/or weekends, as assigned. Primary Duties

In this position you will... Support the department bicycle fleet

including, but not limited to, cleaning; checking equipment for appropriate supplies; and performing bicycle service/maintenance, as needed; maintains service records for bicycles and program equipment. Assist city staff with recreation and event program planning , day-of-event duties, non-benefitted staff and volunteer supervision, facility supervision, and other program, activity, or event related duties, as assigned. Assist with marketing activities, events, and programs including, but not limited to, creating and updating websites, email communications, and social media. Track program expenses and assists

in preparing grant reimbursement requests. Operate a van to transport participants to and from Parks Department locations

which includes, but is not limited to, assisting passengers in getting on and off the van as needed, maintaining the van in a safe and operating condition, and working with the coordinator to schedule the van; tows bicycle trailers and/or racks to program locations; and follows specific steps for connecting trailers and bike racks safely and securely. Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have...

High school diploma, or equivalent

AND

One (1) year of successful work experience in recreation or a similar field.

REQUIRED LICENSES

Possess and retain a valid state driver's license without impending loss at time of appointment. Possess or obtains a valid CPR and First Aid certificate within three (3) months of appointment. Possess of a King County Public Health Department Food Handler's Permit is required within one (1) month of employment as a condition of work
