to install, maintain, and repair radio and emergency vehicle equipment.

Prior to appointment, candidate must undergo a background check, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam. Working Conditions:

Employees are subject to on-call duties, 24-hour call-back, and may be asked to work during unusual hours, inclement weather and other adverse circumstances. Duties may include working in confined spaces and climbing ladders to install, inspect and maintain equipment. Employees must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Travel:

Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.

Sponsorship:

San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States. Minimum Requirements Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing Motorola XTS, XTL, and APX series land mobile radios, as well as emergency vehicle systems. -AND- Education:

Fifteen (15) semester (23 quarter) units of accredited college or post-high school technical coursework in electronics or communication technology

OR

one hundred fifty (150) hours of classroom instruction in the same areas. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.

Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.
