Position Summary:

The Estimator's role is to be detail-oriented and manage the cost estimation process for our upcoming and ongoing projects. They will use a host of skills including mathematical, engineering (2D & 3D formats), mechanical aptitude, problem solving, reading, writing, communicating and visualizing. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensure our customers' needs are consistently met, promoting our company's continued strong national growth.

Analyze, evaluate multiple formats of customer engineering drawings, models and specifications, and develop Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM), Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) and Methods of Manufacturing (MOM) to provide accurate estimate/quotes to the Sales department. Consult with customers, suppliers, service providers, colleagues at all levels and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to discuss, formulate estimates and resolve process issues. Analyze studies to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data or to effect cost reduction Build and/or maintain resource processing time calculators and verify accuracy based on feedback from both customers and operation SMEs Build and/or maintain documents showing standard tolerance achieved by each of our key resources Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

3+ years of experience, in metal product fabrication and production, specifically with CNC Laser/Plasma cutting, thin and heavy plate, Forming (CNC Press-Brake), CNC Machining (Mills and Lathes), Welding & Coating Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints & familiarization with 2D & 3D CAD drawings Knowledge of traditional Fabrication & Manufacturing practices (flat pattern calculations, minimum flange heights, tonnage requirements, laser cut times & press brake tooling) & the ability to utilize & transfer that knowledge into the reliable buildout of MOM's & BOM's for job creation Recognize, review & evaluate customer's specifications accompanied by a strong knowledge of material thickness, types & grades Familiarization reviewing & analyzing costing fluctuations (estimated time vs. actual time) Proficiency in cost estimated for welding is preferred, as well as a strong knowledge & experience with time studies, capacity reporting & cost accounting Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, familiarity with tables, formulas & formatting Self-starter with initiative & the ability to prioritize task work within deadlines & balance personal workload to ensure internal/external customers are addressed timely & efficiently Forward-thinking, decisive, innovative & courageous enough to pursue making the right decisions Strong integrity, committed to principle-centered leadership & high accountability Exceptional communication & presentation skills Open to learning with a willingness to spend time on the shop floor learning manufacturing processes & is dedicated to leadership development of self & others & presents oneself in a respectful, professional manner. Manufacturing & metal fabrication background Familiarity with heavy plate processing & manufacturing as well as knowledge of material thickness, types & grades Experience with Epicor MRP software Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines This is largely a sedentary role; however, it may require occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas. Certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
