York Hospital is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner.

HR Business Partner Duties and Responsibilities :

Advises and consults with employees and supervisors in areas such as employee relations, coaching and performance management. Identifies and recommends policy enhancements and changes as needed. Ensures legal and ethical compliance with state and federal laws.Ensures HR policies and procedures are communicated, adhered to and understood by all employees. Ensures consistent decision making occurs in employee relations and disciplinary/coaching actions. Develops a tracking system for employee performance concerns to ensure timely follow up. Demonstrates a positive, helpful demeanour to staff, vendors, managers, and staff across the hospital which supports the hospital's mission and values. Helps facilitate the implementation of systems, programs, tools and processes designed to improve management and employee performance, productivity, engagement and hospital results. Maintains awareness of emerging trends, concerns and HR related issues and brings these to the attention of the CHRO. Facilitates and delivers training programs as needed to support growth, retention, and attainment of personnel and hospital goals. Assists with the benefit open enrollment process to ensure effective communication regarding benefits changes and timely processing of employee elections. Serve as back up to other functions within the HR department. Partners with the recruiter to ensure that the recruiting strategies and processes are well understood and used effectively by hiring managers. Other duties as deemed appropriate by the CHRO.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient with MS office tools (Word, Excel), familiar with and proficient in the use of an HRIS system. Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. Ability to collaborate with multiple business units/departments in multiple locations. Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities. Ability to be flexible and available and to interact with employees at all levels in a medical setting. Ability to be self-directed and motivated. Ability to take initiative to identify and anticipate needs and make recommendations for implementation. Ability to serve as a positive change agent and influence at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Education/Licensure/Certifications/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent of education and/or experience required; PHR or SPHR certification highly desirable. 3-5 years of experience partnering with business units/departments and assisting with issues preferred.
