The Role
We’re seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong background in commercial and multifamily restoration projects to lead estimating and negotiation efforts across a diverse portfolio. Reporting to a senior leader within the Response Team, you’ll serve as the key point of contact through the preconstruction phase—working closely with Project Managers, clients, insurance carriers, and vendors. Success in this role means confidently handling estimates ranging from $30,000 to $30M+, ensuring timely approvals, and building strong relationships from initial scoping to contract sign-off.
Responsibilities
Lead all estimating efforts from site visit to final proposal, across large-scale commercial restoration projects
Create detailed estimates and quantity take-offs using Xactimate, Symbility, or other relevant software
Collaborate with clients and insurance adjusters to finalize scopes of work and settle proceeds
Participate in project design and budget meetings with owners, architects, and engineers
Prepare construction contracts and support preconstruction documentation
Assist Project Managers with change orders and budget supplements during handover
Maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships, ensuring quality and cost control standards
Travel as needed to job sites across the U.S. to scope, negotiate, and monitor multiple projects
Requirements
3+ years of experience in commercial or multifamily construction, with a focus on estimating
Proficient in industry software including Xactimate and/or Symbility
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading meetings and presentations
Ability to read technical plans and specifications
Experience negotiating with insurance adjusters and navigating claims processes
Comfortable with extensive travel to active project sites
Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and responsive under pressure
Nice to Have
Associate degree in Construction Management or related field
Familiarity with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and lump sum bidding processes
Salary
$80,000 – $150,000 base salary plus commission, (open to negotiating higher base or commission for the right candidate)
