Responsibilities

The Media Developer manages the design and appearance of the WFSU website to enhance the organization's image as a provider comprehensive public broadcasting services to the community. Perform daily updates, postings, and resolve issues related to links, pages and files, and develop and implements procedures for collecting, editing and posting content to the WFSU website from internal and external sources. The position ensures the website's usability within a variety of browser types, screen settings, and integration of audio/video streaming. The Media Developer will clearly communicate issues, changes, and updates that could impact services in a timely manner, assist in testing, rollouts, and maintenance of hardware and software that impact the performance of the website, suggests changes and modifications to senior staff to improve website functionality and user experience. Maintain the integrity of code, security, and UX design of digital technologies and related data structures. The Media Developer is responsible for managing the design, functionality, and overall appearance of the WFSU website to enhance the organization's image as a provider of comprehensive public broadcasting services to the community. This role involves performing daily updates, publishing content, resolving technical issues related to links, pages, and files, and developing procedures for collecting, editing, and posting content from both internal and external sources. The Media Developer ensures the website remains accessible and user-friendly across various browsers, screen resolutions, and devices, including seamless integration of audio and video streaming. They will communicate changes, issues, and updates that may affect services in a timely and clear manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the testing, deployment, and maintenance of hardware and software that impact website performance. The Media Developer also suggests changes and modifications to senior staff for improving website functionality and user experience, while maintaining the integrity of code, security protocols, and UX design standards across all digital platforms and data structures. Serves as subject-matter expert on the use of the wfsu.org website as part of overall communication campaigns. Stays current with evolving industry standards and trends. Maintains WFSU's digital strategy across multiple platforms. Monitors, troubleshoots, and installs hardware and software for network infrastructure. Collaborates with other departments on tasks and technical guidance. Maintains general website and streaming maintenance. Manages and updates a comprehensive list of site IP addresses. Works independently, often under time constraints. Communicates daily with the Director of Digital about technological infrastructure status and organizational needs. Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.) A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire. Preferred Qualifications

Passion for technological innovation. Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure. Ability to adapt and maintain a variety of platforms - social media and digital. Proficiency in relevant computer software applications and operating systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to document technical standards, procedures, and best practices clearly and accurately. Ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical users. Working knowledge of HTML and UNIX-based server environments, as well as familiarity with JSON, Python, and XML. Experience with PHP/MySQL and basic database design, or the ability to apply transferable skills from other programming languages. Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
