Description:

Under general supervision, this position performs the sale, delivery, collection, receipt, counting, and reconciliation of fare passes. Also provides customer service to members of the public to effectively communicate information regarding fare media sales.

Essential Functions:

Responds to fare media inquiries received via the Internet, mail, telephone, and internal requests. Responds to customer concerns regarding automated fare collections system media to include all aspects of LYNX logoed SunRail fare media accounts/transactions and financial questions, as needed. Processes requests for fare passes; orders passes; counts, packages, and distributes sales fare media. Processes refunds related to stored value balances when accounts are being closed out, if applicable. Maintains database for fare media order processing by inputting and updating customer data. Collects and compiles data related to fare media collections to assist in the preparation of audits and analysis, as needed. Enters data in the fare pass database for returns; maintains data, and prepares reports. Performs daily verification and reconciliation of daily sales and cash/credit card deposit for terminal sales/transactions by cashier. Assists in the preparation of consignment outlets fare media shipping receipts, as needed. Performs State of Florida vocational rehabilitation voucher processing to include filling orders, payment collection, posting of transactions to automated system and auditing transactions. Performs cash collection duties at required special events. Provides backup support to the money room as needed where responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: sorting and counting coins and currency received for deposit in the vault, both manually and through the use of coin and currency counting machines; examining money to detect and remove counterfeit, mutilated, and worn coins and bills; preparing all monies for deposit and armored transportation; collecting and preparing money at second location for transportation to main facility. Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality required. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned. Required Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED plus three years of verifiable full-time experience (within the past five years) of handling cash transactions, auditing and reconciling sales and receipts, and preparing reports using Excel. Possession of a technical certificate in accounting may be substituted for two of the three years of required experience. Desired Qualifications:

Associate's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in accounting, finance, or business administration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of cash handling, balancing processes and procedures, reconciling transactions, and related security measures used when handling cash. Knowledge of customer service standards and the ability to remain focused on customer needs. Skills to perform basic computational and mathematical calculations used in cash processing, balancing, and reconciliation, with or without the use of a calculator. Ability to operate a personal computer and various software applications such as Word and Excel. Must be able to perform data entry efficiently and accurately and possess basic to intermediate Excel skills. Ability to plan, organize and schedule work to meet deadlines. Ability to interpret and apply policy, procedures, and regulations applicable to job functions. Must be able to drive a company vehicle to deliver consignment sales fare media. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor. Ability to work in a diverse environment. Work Environment and Special Considerations:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. However, when backing up the money room, duties will be performed in a closed and secured workspace. Duties in the money room may require occasional lifting of bags of coin weighing up to 50 pounds and transferring the bags of coin from money counting machine to cart. Any employee using a company vehicle must possess a valid Florida driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
