who are ready to build a rewarding future. The HR Coordinator/Payroll Specialist provides outstanding onsite service delivery to various academic client sites and educators in metro Detroit. This role is critical as it ensures all HR administrative functions are executed with excellence. The HR Coordinator/Payroll Specialist will process payroll accurately and support employee onboarding, orientation, employee care, benefits, and compliance administration, HRIS processes, utilization, and reporting. Essential Duties and Job Requirements: ACCOUNTABILITY: Timely and accurate payroll maintenance and deductions Well-executed payroll processing and quality control to deliver accurate results with minimal manual adjustments Collaborate daily with Engage PEO HR operations team to deliver HR administrative functions Provide clear, constant, and transparent communication to client leaders and internal team members while maintaining confidentiality Respond to client inquiries within 24 hours and assist the client's HR team in doing the same for employee questions and concerns Ensure efficient processes within HR administration and HRIS PAYROLL CORE FUNCTIONS 40% of Job Responsibilities: Payroll maintenance and deductions Bi-weekly payroll processing Follow payroll quality control processes Assist employees with tax withholding, W2 and payroll questions, retrieving pay stubs, timeclock utilization, and other payroll-related support Work with the client to ensure payroll and timeclock processes are followed and deadlines met HR COORDINATOR CORE FUNCTIONS 60% of Job Responsibilities: Operate efficiently within several technology platforms Follow all standard operating procedures and policies Support benefit administration, enrollment, and life event changes Assist the client HR team with new employee screening, verification, offer letters, onboarding, and orientation Collaborate with Engage PEO HR operations team on leave of absence, workers compensation, unemployment management, employee care, HRIS, and timeclock utilization, processes, and reporting Other Skills & Responsibilities: Share and support the clients mission of achieving the Complete Life for yourself, team members, and the school community Be a team player with a genuine interest in streamlining processes for efficiency Exhibit emotional intelligence and the ability to connect with people Possess strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn innovative technology Willingness to learn, research, and pursue professional development Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Extreme attention to detail and a desire for organization and accuracy Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively Strong project management skills and resourcefulness Enjoy working independently and collaboratively between client and Engage PEO teams WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL: Onsite at academic client sites within metro Detroit Mandatory two-week training at our Michigan office in Grand Rapids Occasional travel to Grand Rapids, MI for quarterly trainings and company events Minimum Qualifications: 4-year degree in Human Resources or Business Administration 1-5 years of experience in a Human Resources setting 1-5 years of experience with payroll, HRIS, ATS, time and labor platforms, onboarding, and benefits administration COMPENSATION: The salary range is listed below but may vary based on location, skills, and experience. Some positions may include bonuses or incentives not reflected in the range. Annual Salary Range:
