We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a dynamic construction industry setting. The role requires a proactive approach to managing invoices, purchase orders, billing, and subcontract entries, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes. Responsibilities: Process high volumes of invoices, including tracking and matching purchase orders and change orders. Manage billing activities, including time and material billing and lump sum jobs, adhering to client-specific requirements. Ensure proper coding and entry of accounts payable transactions, maintaining organized and accurate records. Handle subcontractor entries and oversee the completion of project packages through to finalization. Perform check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments to ensure timely disbursement. Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and gather necessary documentation for invoice processing. Utilize proprietary systems effectively, with training provided, to streamline accounts payable operations. Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounting activities. Provide support in reconciling accounts and preparing reports as needed. Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field. Proficiency in processing invoices, coding accounts, and managing purchase orders. Familiarity with billing practices, including time and material billing and lump sum projects. Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and check runs. Strong organizational and communication skills to manage high-volume workflows. Ability to learn and adapt quickly to proprietary systems with provided training. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Experience in the construction or contracting industry is preferred but not required.
