Donor Relations Specialist

to lead our donor cultivation, retention, and fundraising event coordination efforts. You'll work closely with the Executive Director and Leadership Team to build donor relationships, execute fundraising campaigns, and ensure that donor communications and experiences reflect our values and mission. Core Responsibilities Donor Engagement & Pipeline Management

Develop and manage a donor pipeline using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system Research prospective donors and update profiles regularly Cultivate individual and corporate donor relationships Fundraising Strategy & Campaigns

Collaborate with the Leadership Team to design and implement an annual fundraising plan Coordinate fundraising campaigns Lead the fundraising component of our annual showcase and smaller year-round events Donor Engagement

Create and send personalized thank-you letters, holiday cards, and donor acknowledgments Maintain consistent donor communication that reflects impact and gratitude Events & Community Outreach

Coordinate donor-focused event logistics and support overall event execution Attend local events and represent DID/WDO to foster community connections Coordinate with Dance Director and Leadership Team for the fundraising of our annual showcase Collaboration & Communication

Meet weekly with Leadership Team Participate in meetings with the grant support team to align donor and grant strategies Provide donor/fundraising updates and input on strategy to Leadership Team and Board Meetings as needed Expanded Responsibilities Donor Reporting & Analytics : Track donor metrics, analyze trends, and generate reports to guide strategy Volunteer & Alumni Engagement : Coordinate engagement opportunities for past participants and volunteers Content Collaboration : Work with marketing team on donor spotlights and campaign messaging Corporate Matching & Sponsorships : Promote employer match programs and identify local sponsorship leads Recurring Giving Programs : Develop and manage a monthly/recurring donor program Board Support : Provide donor insights and prep materials for board-led fundraising efforts Qualifications Minimum 3 years of successful donor engagement and leading fundraising events Nonprofit experience required (arts-based or dance-related strongly preferred) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Tech-savvy with CRM experience (e.g., Monday.com), virtual collaboration, and fundraising platforms Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Comfortable working independently and attending in-person events in San Diego Education : Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered To Apply Please submit a resume and letter of interest.
