This is an in-person, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm position at our Chesapeake office. Requirements:
Minimum of two years of billing and coding experience. Job Responsibilities:
Scrub and audit charges from providers for billing, posting any missing charges as necessary. Ensure codes are assigned correctly and sequenced according to government and insurance regulations. Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies. Review patients' charts and documents for verification and accuracy. Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding. Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations. Assist in resolving discrepancies in charges. Provide customer service regarding charge inquiries. Handle denials and appeals with insurance companies. Assist patients with billing inquiries. Certification in Medical Coding is a plus, with strong knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience with pre-certification, benefit verifications for surgical procedures, follow-up, and denied claims is preferred. Experience in ENT/Allergy is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
