Medical Billing Specialists

Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Health insurance Eastern Virginia Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists is seeking a motivated Medical Billing Specialist with experience in charge entry and coding for our busy ENT practice. This is an in-person, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm position at our Chesapeake office. A minimum of two years of billing/coding experience is required. Job Responsibilities: Scrub and audit charges from providers for billing; post any missing charges as necessary. Ensure codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately according to government and insurance regulations. Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies. Review patient charts and documents for verification and accuracy. Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding. Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations. Assist in resolving discrepancies in charges. Provide customer service related to charge inquiries. Manage denials and appeals with insurance companies. Assist patients with billing inquiries. Certification in Medical Coding is a plus; strong knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes required. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience with pre-certification, benefit verifications for surgical procedures, follow-up, and denied claims. Experience in ENT/Allergy is a plus.
