Summary:
SPI is seeking a highly motivated Senior Pricing Analyst to design strategic pricing initiatives and provide other actionable insights to increase our market competitiveness and profitability. To ensure success in the role, you should possess sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods through similar, accumulated experience. The right Senior Pricing Analyst will combine that technical pricing knowledge with a focus on business partnership, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance pricing strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Opportunities to present vetted recommendations to senior management and build strong relationships at that level will be possible.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Pricing Analytics and Initiative Design: Perform margin and profitability analysis on large datasets by product, customer, and geographic dimensions, using tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python. Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor pricing, where possible. Translate analytics findings into effective Pricing initiatives to grow margins with risk management of top-line revenue. Translate analytics into dynamic tools usable by stakeholders to better understand their business and easily identify Pricing and behavioral margin opportunities (e.g., Power BI dashboarding). Conduct scenario modeling to assess the impact of pricing changes. Keep informed on pricing analysis methods and industry trends. Opportunity to expand margin insights beyond Pricing:
Identify, analyze and recommend opportunities for cost savings to increase profitability. Forecast future market shares based on market trends, production costs, profit margins, and sales volumes.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Track pricing performance and key pricing metrics (e.g., price realization, margin erosion) for senior management. Monitor and maintain pricing data in ERP systems and trackers, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity. Track and evaluate success of pricing exceptions granted to salespeople to ensure success benchmarks are achieved or exceptions rescinded. Maintain documentation for pricing models and processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Function as a key liaison between finance, sales, and operations, fostering collaboration to address pricing challenges and ensure strategic alignment. Help build pricing governance frameworks and approval workflows. Prepare and present pricing analytical findings for executives and sales staff through clear, visual presentations that can be easily consumed, making complex analyses understandable to technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Provide trustworthy guidance, fact-checking and advice for colleagues and project sponsors. Share knowledge and support colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment, contributing as an integral member of the team. Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or in a related field. Minimum of 4+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or sales operations, preferably in a corporate environment. Skills:
Deep knowledge of pricing theories and concepts, including elasticity and market segmentation. Proficient with ERP and CRM systems and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work with large datasets and use data analytics tools to generate actionable insights. Effectively collaborative in building and aligning pricing strategies with sales and finance teams. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment. Competencies:
