Florida A&M University's Office of University Housing is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Media/Digital Artist vacancy.

Responsibilities

This position serves works under the direction of the Assistant Director, Housing Marketing and Communications.

The essential functions and fundamentals for this position: Shoots the events and classes happening in University Housing department; Splices raw film footage together from various sources, shoots, and combines it with other scenes to create a cohesive story; Evaluates and edits the footage into time lines and cut time out of certain shots to create a more impactful story for the audience; Combines visual footage with audio sound effects, dialogue ambient sound, and a musical sound track to create more drama in the story.

Uses computer editing software programs, video switching devices, digital video effects programs and other tools to piece together film components; Ensures all editing cuts, splices, changes and additions appear seamless and natural and help the story flow more effectively in the finished product; Participates in discussions about the format, delivery, specifications and technical problem solving needed for a project;and, designs and edits content that meets brand guidelines.

Conceptualizes and creates ideas for compelling content that is platform-specific; Sets up on-location video productions including proper lighting and sound design; Provides post-production knowledge of exporting, trans-coding, converting and archiving footage; Takes feedback to make adjustments & deliver finished products on time; Creates portfolio of photography and demo reel for videography; Develops content for social media; Creates audio recording editing; and, Utilizes export and compression best practices for digital and social media.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree focused on Digital Art, Computer Related Science,or appropriate area specialization and three years of related digital experience; or Master's degree in Art or Fine Arts with Digital Art focus and two year of related digital experience, or Certified vocational/technical training equal to three years, with seven years experience in the specific area of digital art; or Post secondary education equal to three years and ten years experience in the specific area of digital art.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
