Florida A&M University's Undergraduate Student Success Center is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applicatios for the Coordinator, Academic Programs vacancy.

Responsibilities

This role focuses on coordinating math-related tutorial services to enhance student retention, progression, and graduation rates. As the Lead Learning Center Coordinator, you will oversee three Learning Centers on campus and manage a team of three Coordinators along with undergraduate tutors. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a supportive and engaging learning environment for a diverse student body. This role requires close collaboration with faculty, students, and staff to enrich the academic experience for students enrolled in STEM courses.

As the Coordinator, the incumbent recruits, trains, and manages a team of tutors and support staff; Conducts professional development workshops and ensure staff are up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and scientific knowledge; evaluates tutorial staff on performance and productivity ; Fosters an inclusive and interactive learning environment for students; Develops strategies to engage students in science learning activities and monitor their academic progress; Conducts workshops to improve comprehension of scientific principles; Compiles monthly reports detailing Learning Center usage, results, and student achievement; Engages with teaching staff to promote student involvement in tutorial-related activities; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.

Knowledge of academic resources available to students;

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of career counseling and development;

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously;

Ability to utilize problem solving skills;

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in mathematics education, science education, S.T.E.M. degree, or a related field (master's degree preferred); At least 3 years of experience in educational program management or coordination, preferably in a S.T.EM. -related field; Strong understanding of curriculum and teaching methodologies; Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills; and Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and manage multiple projects.

Anticipated Salary Range

The hiring salary is $45,000.00

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment
