Job Title: Customs Analyst (Hybrid | 12-Month Contract)
Location: Detroit, MI
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 4 Days Onsite, 1 Remote Day
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $34-$38 (Based on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking
two experienced Customs Analysts
to join our team on a full-time, long-term contract basis. In this hybrid role, you’ll be responsible for data analysis, duty recovery investigations, broker coordination, and reporting related to international shipments. This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with 5–10 years of import/export experience and deep knowledge of customs compliance and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect daily broker files and ACE data for use in finance reporting.
Merge and manage reporting files and upload to internal platforms.
Investigate duty spikes and summarize weekly findings for internal meetings.
Conduct in-depth data mining related to HTS, COO, duties paid, FTA, etc.
Support cross-functional requests from Sales, Purchasing, and others.
Analyze discrepancies and coordinate duty recovery efforts with brokers and CBP.
Manage post-entry corrections and adjustments to ensure complete filings.
Track duty refunds and ensure proper G/L code allocations.
Prepare and present reports for internal stakeholders (weekly, monthly).
Support ongoing and newly identified customs-related projects.
Required Qualifications:
5–10 years
of import/export experience involving global shipments.
Bachelor’s degree in
Supply Chain ,
Logistics ,
Business Administration , or related field.
Proficient in customs documentation, FTA/COO certificates, and recordkeeping.
Strong knowledge of global
HTS classifications
and
tariff systems .
Expertise in
Excel ,
Power BI , and
Power Query .
Ability to analyze large data sets and deliver actionable reports.
Excellent attention to detail, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of PowerPoint for internal reporting/presentations.
Nice to Have:
Customs-related certifications.
Global tariff experience.
Familiarity with CBP procedures and post-entry processes.
