The expected base rate for this role is $28.50 or more per hour during the training period (6-8 weeks), then paid component pay (base plus miles, cases, and stops). Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday (4-day workweek). Dispatching between 3:00 am - 6:00 am. Work until all cases are delivered. Hours subject to change based on business needs. US Foods is one of the largest food distributors with a culture and history of promoting from within, excellent training programs, and a continuous improvement focus. Main ingredients of the job include safely driving trucks to customers and meeting scheduled customer delivery times, carefully unloading products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and placing in designated customer storage areas, verifying accuracy of delivery with customers and obtaining proper signatures, handling collections and payments from customers when applicable, professionally performing customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience, and performing all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection. Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift, comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift), and ability to read and communicate in the English language. What you bring to the table includes registering to the FMCSA clearinghouse, being at least 21 years of age, having a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications, minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required, ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations, and ability to read and communicate in the English language.
