ABNA Corporation ABNA is seeking a highly motivated Vice President of Construction Management for our St. Louis, MO office to lead project delivery within the highway, bridge, rail, transit, and airport infrastructure sectors. This role involves leading project teams, delivering successful outcomes for large-scale infrastructure projects, and ensuring compliance with industry and best standards. The role will involve developing and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners while driving innovation and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Vice President of Construction Management will report to ABNA's Chief Operations Officer. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering projects for agencies such as DOTs, Municipalities, State Agencies, Rail agencies, Water/Wastewater agencies, etc., or similar. The candidate should demonstrate leadership in fast-paced team environments, possess strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities
Lead project teams to deliver successful outcomes for large-scale infrastructure projects. Act as a primary point of contact with clients, regulators, and partners, fostering long-term relationships. Drive strategic alignment of projects with client objectives, organizational goals, and industry standards. Represent ABNA in industry forums and professional organizations, building brand credibility and thought leadership. Develop and nurture high-level business contacts and a client base for engineering services. Project Management & Technical Oversight
Oversee project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking. Lead the execution of complex projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to drive multi-disciplinary project delivery. Ensure environmental, sustainability, and safety measures are integrated into all project phases. Report on project status, identify risks, and lead mitigation efforts. Drive improvements in project management processes using advanced technology and best practices. Business Development
Support growth through proposal development, bid reviews, and client presentations. Identify new business opportunities and cross-sell ABNAs capabilities. Develop strategic partnerships to secure contracts with agencies such as IDOT, ISTHA, and CTA. Operations & Financial Management
Monitor project budgets, expenses, and overall financial health to ensure profitability. Supervise subcontractors, contracts, and staff to maintain operational efficiency. Manage resources effectively to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. Ensure project revenues meet or exceed three times the labor costs. Compliance & Standards
Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws and regulations. Oversee safety measures across all project phases. Maintain adherence to ABNAs policies, standards, and sustainability considerations. Staff Development & Growth
Mentor and manage project managers, engineers, and teams. Foster professional development and continuous learning. Recruit and retain top talent to build a high-performing team. Guide staff in using advanced project management tools and techniques. Encourage strategic thinking and problem-solving to elevate project delivery standards. Qualifications
Over 15 years experience in Civil/Structural Engineering. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. IDOT & Illinois Tollway experience (required). Experience with IL DOT policies and highway construction fieldwork. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois (required). Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification (required). Experience with City of Chicago DOT construction preferred. Strong skills in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and relevant software. Excellent technical communication skills. Ability to manage projects from initial planning to completion. Additional Details
