Position Overview : We’re seeking an experienced and business-minded lawyer to join our legal team. This individual will be instrumental in driving legal strategy across the organization while serving as a trusted partner to senior leadership and business unit leaders. The ideal candidate is a strong generalist with subject matter expertise in consumer finance, legal acumen, exceptional writing and analytical skills, and the confidence to lead cross-functional teams through complex legal and business decisions. How you’ll make an impact : Legal Strategy & Business Partnership :

Support the Chief Legal Officer / General Counsel in providing strategic legal guidance. Offer practical legal solutions aligned with the company’s goals in a fast-paced consumer financial environment. HR & Employment Law Support :

Advise on employment matters including performance management, workplace investigations, terminations, policy development, and compliance with federal and state labor laws. Act as a legal partner to HR in strategic and day-to-day matters. Vendor & Contract Management :

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, focusing on vendor agreements, technology contracts, and service arrangements. Develop templates, standards, and best practices for efficiency and risk mitigation. Consumer Privacy :

Ensure compliance with domestic and international privacy laws such as GLBA, GDPR, and CCPA. Provide legal guidance on privacy matters to product, marketing, and security teams. Support risk assessment and mitigation related to data processing activities. Intellectual Property :

Manage and monitor the company's trademarks and service marks, including registration and inventory management. Cross-Functional Support :

Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Product, and Compliance teams to identify legal risks, support transactions, and ensure policy adherence. Regulatory Experience :

Support legal projects, interpret regulations, and help update policies to ensure compliance with consumer financial laws and regulations. What you’ll need to succeed : Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school. Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, including 2–3 years in-house or equivalent. Experience in consumer financial services or a similar regulated industry. Experience supporting HR and legal domains. Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills, with ability to present to senior leaders and boards. Knowledge of HTML and IronClad is a plus. Ability to work independently and lead legal projects across teams.
