Senior API Developer (Java/AWS) - Smithfield, RI - Hybrid
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior API Developer with expertise in Java and AWS to join our team in Smithfield, RI. This role involves developing and deploying externalized Service Center Inquiry APIs that enable clients to access status information on work items without logging into portals.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy APIs on AWS cloud infrastructure.
Define and adhere to API contracts, ensuring security via OAuth 2.0, API keys, HTTPS, and RBAC.
Implement scalable, high-availability API solutions using AWS services like EKS, auto-scaling, and load balancers.
Integrate with existing systems for real-time data retrieval.
Document APIs with Swagger, provide usage guidelines, and support versioning.
Conduct end-to-end testing and participate in automated deployment pipelines.
Guide and collaborate with other developers within an agile team.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Java, REST API, Spring Boot, SQL, and JSON.
Experience with AWS cloud services, EKS, Terraform, and Datadog.
Knowledge of API security protocols and best practices.
Experience navigating internal API development processes in large enterprises.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with large enterprise clients.
Financial industry background is a plus but not required.
Location:
Based in Rhode Island. Remote work is acceptable; onsite presence for onboarding and meetings is beneficial, preferably in Smithfield.
