Mechanical Engineer – Marine Projects

Role Overview: Drive mechanical design activities for marine engineering projects, with hands-on 2D/3D design work, cross-functional coordination, and team leadership to ensure successful project execution from concept to delivery. Key Responsibilities: Lead mechanical design tasks (2D/3D) and support engineering operations across multiple marine projects. Assist Section Lead in scheduling, task allocation, and daily coordination. Ensure quality and timely completion of assigned mechanical tasks. Provide technical direction on design methodologies, regulatory compliance, and industry standards. Mentor junior engineers and draftsmen, fostering teamwork and technical accuracy. Troubleshoot mechanical challenges and implement engineering solutions. Attend project meetings and provide reporting on design progress and resource utilization. Prepare/review calculations, specifications, and drawings for machinery and piping systems. Develop and validate both schematic and detailed 2D/3D marine system designs. Liaise with shipyards, consultants, and vendors to ensure alignment and technical clarity. Support both greenfield (newbuild) and brownfield (repair/upgrades) project scopes. Requirements: 5+ years in marine mechanical/piping design, with 2+ years in a senior role. Strong design software skills (AutoCAD, AVEVA) and understanding of marine class standards.
