Mechanical Project Engineer – Marine (Production)

Position Summary:
Independently perform mechanical design work (2D and 3D) and lead assigned sections in project execution.
Assist the Section Project Lead in managing daily operations and project coordination.
Execute mechanical design tasks in compliance with project quality, schedule, and technical standards.
Provide technical input on design methodologies and ensure alignment with current regulations and industry standards.
Track and report on project metrics such as man-hours, design output, and schedule progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the overall progress of project team deliverables and timelines.
Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance design standards and methods.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, assistant engineers, and drafting staff to ensure cohesive teamwork.
Analyze and resolve mechanical design issues arising during the course of the project.
Report design deliverables, such as object counts and documentation milestones.
Attend project and section meetings to update stakeholders on design progress and technical matters.
Prepare and review mechanical machinery and piping calculations, specifications, and vendor drawings.
Review and develop 2D layouts, schematic diagrams, and 3D models related to marine machinery and piping.
Provide site and production support through technical drawings and 3D models.
Coordinate with shipyards, consultants, and vendors to align on technical requirements and solutions.
Support the Section Lead in resolving mechanical technical issues across project scopes.
Involved in newbuilding, repair, upgrade, and vessel conversion projects from design to execution.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical/piping design within marine or offshore newbuild projects.
At least 2 years in a senior or lead engineer role.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and AVEVA tools.
Familiar with marine class rules and statutory requirements.
Solid knowledge of machinery, piping, and HVAC system design.
Strong communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
