Fully supporting the HSE program and providing day to day HSE site support for Field supervision on all projects in the designated Metropolitan San Diego area. Travel within the region will be required. This is a field personnel position. This is a safety department position and will have a direct reporting line to Sr Regional Safety Manager -and with safety department a dotted line to Department Operation Managers with projects in the region. Monitor work activities and advise site management regarding improvements in HSE program implementation and/or performance. This will involve interfacing with site managementincluding subcontractors and client representatives. The expectation is that this position will support site management in their efforts to achieve HSE goals and objectives. Provide oversight of site-specific safety personnel assigned to specific projects within the San Diego market/So Cal region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Act as the safety point of contact for assigned project sites by working closely with the site supervision concerning all safety related needs. Provide leadership, direction, and HSE support within the assigned area. Effectively coordinate site safety needs amongst multiple job sites based on priority and complexity. Monitors promote and support the Baker Electric safety process and expectations by conducting frequent non-audit related field visits and following up on safety related recommendations. Assist projects located within the area with the job start-up process. Assist site management with developing, implementing and revising, as necessary, the site-specific Safety Plan. Coordinate HSE implementation activities and assist site management with ensuring employees are working safely and in a safe environment. Identify and conduct just-in-time safety training based on site specific needs. Navigate through the Performance Management process by balancing Behavioral and Compliance based theories. Assist in the investigation of incidents for root cause and preventive action. Assist in medical case management, as necessary. Experience, Education

5 years of fulltime (HSE) health, safety and environment experience Safety function experience in construction, electrical / power environment preferred BCSP Safety certificate a plus Experience with Behavioral Based Safety processes preferred. Ability to spend significant time on a specific site Technical Competencies

Strong knowledge of OSHA/Cal OSH regulations Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook Proven ability to conduct research, gather and compile data and information. Proven ability to implement policies, procedures and perhaps most importantly, the ability to facilitate change. Behavioral Competencies
