The position of Area Safety Manager is to provide day-to-day HSE support to site leadership and operating teams within a designated region and/or departments. This position will ensure that the health, safety & environmental processes & procedures are complying with all corporate and statutory requirements where applicable. Functioning as a subject matter expert and consultant to internal clients, this position will help build sustainable improvement processes within their operating departments. We're looking for people to help us shepherd the process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Interface with Baker Electric departments, client site management, and company operations personnel. Monitor, promote and support the Baker safety process at the site level. Conduct site visits to monitor and assess the execution of Baker Electric's Behavioral Based Safety Program. Provide safety guidance and coaching to Management and Supervision. Provide support to a variety of construction markets and business groups within your region. Identify training needs and assist in the development of training material. Report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager and work directly with Director of Safety and Operational Managers to identify areas of focus within the specified region. Represent our company with integrity always. Practice the Company's mission statement and Behavioral Based Safety processes. Serve as the subject matter expert concerning safety related issues for the assigned department by providing client relations and regulatory agency support. Create, implement, and lead safety training in the region. Indirectly train, coach, and manage market specific Safety personnel. Navigate through the Performance Management process by balancing Behavioral and Compliance based theories. Communicate with employees at every level of the organization, as well as customers. Key 30, 60, 90 Day Accomplishments: First 30: Demonstrate an understanding of the Baker safety process. First 60: Demonstrate effective integration of the performance management process into their safety efforts. Improvement in the quality of safety audits/reports. Work collaboratively with others to achieve safety goals. First 90: Produce quality safety audits/reports. Experience, Education: 3

5 years of full-time construction safety experience (from site specific to management) Safety management experience in electrical/power environment preferred Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred (Safety/Environmental Sciences) CSP "Certified Safety Professional" or CHST "Certified Health Safety Technician" related safety certificate a plus Strong knowledge of OSHA/Cal OSH regulations Experience with Behavioral Based Safety processes preferred Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook Ability to spend significant time on a specific site Ability to travel to multiple project locations Proven ability to conduct research, gather and compile data and information Proven ability to implement policies, procedures and perhaps most importantly, the ability to facilitate change At Baker, we are proud to be an employee-owned company.
