Schneider Regional Medical Center Administrative Assistant II
This position is responsible for providing routine and complex administrative support to the Director of Radiology. This role is responsible for all front desk activities including greeting patients, answering phones, maintaining Radiology log, and entering orders into the Meditech system when appropriate. The Administrative Assistant II position differs from the Administrative Assistant I position in its level of responsibility for performing duties independently and/or under the general or direct supervision of the Director. It includes acting on own initiative and direction in providing administrative support to the Department by analyzing problems, determining approach, compiling and analyzing data, properly scheduling and registering patients for procedures, and preparing reports/recommendations for action by the Director. (Part-Time) Greets patients upon arrival, verifies orders, and enters information into Meditech computer system. Performs the duties of receptionist and directs calls to appropriate location Responds to request for reports and CDs both internally and externally Acts as personal contact liaison for questions and problem solving Performs general clerical duties to include but not limited to faxing, mailing, and copying CD's Maintains a log for radiology patients Schedules appointments for the department and gives proper instructions to the patient. Completes and signs all requisite forms, obtains insurance information, accurate demographics information, obtains copies of ID and insurance cards to complete the registration process. Processes patients in a timely manner to eliminate excessive patient wait time. Enters all data into the computer system with speed and accuracy. Verifies that all information is entered into the system to keep error rates below 3%. Follows departmental policy/procedures when engaged with a disruptive, combative or otherwise unruly patient or visitor. Informs appropriate staff as to acute patient conditions requiring immediate attention to ensure the safety of the patient. Uses kindness, tact and gentle persuasion at all times to obtain detailed, accurate information. Enables patient to remain calm and cooperative during the interview process. The Administrative Assistant II will work as a team member within the Radiology Department and will perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of a High School Diploma or an equivalent certificate from an accredited institution, vocational or technical certificate of completion, or college credit or Certificate in Medical Terminology, and 1-3 years of applicable experience in related field.
