The Position

Under supervision, performs a variety of administrative duties in support of professional staff in assigned work group. Position information: This is a part-time unclassified position, limited to 980 hours/fiscal year. Schedule may vary between 7 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Thursday. Essential Duties

(These functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.) Performs primary research of data for inclusion in reports and studies. Assists in the preparation of written reports and recommendations. Conducts surveys. Assists with file maintenance and data entry. Drafts correspondence. Assists in the development of manuals, forms and procedure handbooks. Maintains statistical records. Disseminates information to staff and the public. May drive to different locations to perform work, site inspections/surveys or attend meetings within and outside the City. Performs mathematical calculations. Operates personal computer. Performs related duties as required. Qualifications

Education and Experience: Completion of sixty (60) semester units at a recognized college or university and must be currently enrolled in upper division courses at a recognized college or university. Some experience performing administrative or clerical work is desirable. Knowledge of: Modern English usage. Mathematics, including statistics. Research and analytical methods. Personal computers and related software applications. Skill and Ability to: Compile, review and evaluate data. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Learn City organization, operations, policies and objectives. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Deal tactfully with the public. Working Conditions
