Today, we are looking for a professional engineer to join our team in Mechanicsburg, PA (On-Site/Office). Duties: Perform a wide range of engineering and technical reviews, analyses, and studies. Anticipate and address problems and issues that arise during the acquisition and sustainment of assigned Navy weapon and hull, mechanical, and electronic systems, equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts. Provide technical leadership and serve as a technical project manager as well as subject matter expert (SME). Conduct parts research in support of the procurement of spare and repair parts. Validate proposed replacement parts. Participate in receipt inspection activity and certification audits. Review Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for completeness, correctness, and/or changes. Resolve reliability and maintenance issues throughout the life cycle of a system through Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). Requirements: Must be a US Citizen. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications:

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must be as a professional engineer performing the duties of a Materials Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Electronics Engineer. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education: Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: For GS-11:

Three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. For GS-09:

Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree; OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree. For GS-07:

GS-07: $50,972.00 to $66,267.00 (SRT 0414 - $54,557.00 to $67,148.00) GS-09: $62,348.00 to $81,051.00 (SRT 0414 - $66,731.00 to $82,130.00) GS-11: $75,436.00 to $98,062.00 GS-12: $90,416.00 to $117,545.00 This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
