Specialist-IT Help Desk

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Helpdesk Support Specialist to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, resolving IT-related issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and software. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong technical background, and a passion for delivering high-quality customer service. Primary responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance, providing timely and effective resolution to IT-related issues, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems, guiding end-users through step-by-step solutions, escalating complex issues to the appropriate IT teams, recording and tracking support incidents, prioritizing and managing workload, assisting with account management tasks, installing and maintaining hardware devices, installing and troubleshooting software applications, contributing to the IT knowledge base, and providing training and guidance to end-users. Qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Information Technology, 1-2 years of experience in a helpdesk or technical support role, strong knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, and software applications, familiarity with networking concepts, experience with troubleshooting common IT issues, proficiency in using help desk ticketing systems, excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, a customer-centric mindset, and certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are a plus. Working conditions include sitting and working at a computer keyboard for extended periods, stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching on a daily basis, performing general office administrative activities, lifting and moving up to 25 pounds occasionally, regular and on-time attendance, prioritizing, scheduling, and completing testing for multiple applications, a degree of creativity and flexibility, hours may exceed 40 hours per week, and occasional travel by conventional means within the region and to other locations as required.
