Supervises and administers activities of a residence hall. Manager is given room and board at the residence hall as part of the employment package. Duties include oversight of maintenance and renovation, purchase and inventory of supplies, assignment of rooms and summer housing, housekeeping functions, and management of student conduct and discipline. Responsibilities

Staff Supervisor Ensure staff compliance with established Residence Life and University Policies. Train and support RAs on an ongoing basis in all aspects that would facilitate the successful completion of the RA performance program. Plan and implement staff development to aid the RAs in developing positive group dynamics and the formation of a cohesive team unit. Continue training efforts on an ongoing basis with the staff through individual conferences, staff meetings, and regular staff development efforts. Support and supervise RAs and Desk Assistants (DAs) in their administrative assignments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. Evaluate the performance of RAs and the DA regularly. Provide opportunities for staff to receive feedback about the quality and effectiveness of their work. Formally evaluate the performance of RAs during the departmental evaluation process, which occurs once each semester. Lead effective weekly individual and group meetings with RAs. Develop and maintain staff awareness of campus/community issues through training, programming, individual contacts and role modeling. Administrator Establish and maintain office hours with a minimum of two hours per day unless otherwise approved by supervisor in assigned building to ensure availability to staff and students. The RD may be asked to assist with Central Office coverage from time to time. When necessary, cover building front desk from 8 a.m.

Noon in the absence of DAs. Attend individual and area staff meetings (as scheduled) and participate in on-going staff development activities as determined by the AD for Student & Staff Initiatives. Conduct a minimum of four (4) programs/events aligned with university, division, and/or department strategic objectives in the residence halls or for the department. Attend and participate in programs, events, and staff development activities as outlined by the department or the division. Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings. Conduct assigned responsibilities associated with checking in/out students and other administrative processes related to housing residents. Assist the Room Assignments Coordinator or designated staff at the beginning of each semester in double checking when students check-in and if they properly checked into their assigned room. Record any changes and communicate any inconsistencies to the Room Assignments Coordinator or designated staff. Maintain all appropriate hall documentation related to physical plant management and inventory control (i.e., service request log, weekly walk-through reports, room condition reports, and log of emergency calls, etc.) Promote and develop management procedures and practices that preserve and enhance the facilities by conducting equipment and building inventories on a regular basis. Offer recommendations for the purchase of furnishings and equipment, the improvement of housekeeping services, preventative maintenance, vandalism programs and safety measures. Conduct regular building tours. Investigate reported damages and implement the damage billing process as necessary and communicate to the area office. Submit monthly charges for fines and damages to the Room Assignments Coordinator or other designated staff. Conduct monthly health and Safety inspections. Coordinate and implement the distribution of keys. Communicate policies to both staff and residents, especially at the beginning and the end of each semester. Maintains appropriate judicial documentation. Participate in daily and weekend duty coverage. Staff will be expected to equally share responsibilities associated with duty coverage of the year-round communities and break housing buildings when classes are not in session and during vacation/holiday periods. In conjunction with the Office of Public Safety, conduct fire drills as scheduled by the Assistant Director for Housing Services. Complete sections of the annual report by designated deadlines. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required Minimum three years of residential professional or para-professional experience Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, social justice education or a related field. Higher education administration experience. Strong counseling skills. Supervisory experience. A passion for, and experience with, working with students, families and colleagues of diverse backgrounds. Conditions of Employment
