3:00 PM Medical Records Receptionist
Hire Up Staffing is currently seeking a Medical Records Receptionist on a part-time, temp-to-hire basis for a reputable medical office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated administrative professional with medical office experience to grow in a dynamic and patient-focused environment. Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in an administrative or medical office setting. Medical Office Assistant background preferred. MA Certification required. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus, but not mandatory. Knowledge & Skills:
Completion of job-related college coursework or vocational training preferred. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and patient confidentiality protocols. Strong command of Microsoft Office 365 and general office equipment. Experience with multi-line phone systems. Typing speed of at least 45 WPM. Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day), following standard break schedules. Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Core Responsibilities:
Process incoming and outgoing medical record requests in a timely and HIPAA-compliant manner. Assist Spanish-speaking patients with in-person and phone translations, as needed. Scan fax confirmations and route documents to patient EMR charts. Follow up on pre-op lab statuses and file lab results accordingly. Obtain cardiac clearances and file operative reports and referral packets into AthenaOne. Conduct patient check-out as needed. Make follow-up calls regarding authorizations and outgoing referrals. Answer and direct incoming calls. Serve as a back-up for check-in, check-out, and chart handling. Other duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator or in response to patient care needs. Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and all patient confidentiality standards. Follow all workplace safety protocols. Comply with all company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook, including attendance, rest, and meal breaks per California law. Maintain professional appearance and hygiene to reflect positively on the practice and team.
