Job Overview : A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join its growing Employment Law practice in Modesto. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in employment law, with a strong background in advising clients, handling litigation matters, and providing practical legal counsel. This role requires expertise in wage and hour cases, class actions, discrimination and wrongful termination cases, and other employment-related matters. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and legal skills, along with a willingness to travel to client sites and between firm offices. Location : Modesto, CA Duties : Counsel clients on various employment law issues, including wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination matters. Litigate cases in California state and federal courts. Prepare and respond to pleadings, engage in motion practice, and manage discovery. Handle class action cases and employment discrimination claims. Respond to administrative charges and advise clients on compliance with wage laws, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations. Assist in policy development, compliance training, and managing pre-litigation disputes. Travel to client sites and between firm offices as required. Provide practical, effective legal solutions to clients on employment-related matters. Requirements : Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law. Experience handling wage and hour, class action, and employment discrimination and wrongful termination matters. Strong track record of litigation experience in California state and federal courts. Familiarity with wage laws, leave regulations (FMLA, ADA), and compliance matters. Proven ability to provide strategic legal counsel to clients. Willingness to travel to client sites and between firm offices as needed. Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills. Strong academic background with a proven track record of measurable results. Education : Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications : Active membership in the California State Bar. Skills : Expertise in employment law, including wage and hour, discrimination, and wrongful termination issues. Strong litigation skills, with experience in California state and federal courts. Proficiency in preparing pleadings, engaging in motion practice, and managing discovery. Ability to advise clients on complex legal matters and compliance issues. Excellent communication, negotiation, and writing skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
