Herzog Contracting Corp. is seeking an experienced
Chief Inspector of Signals, Communication & Train Control
in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The pay range for this position is $160,000 - $175,000. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, direct, and manage the Wayside Signal, Communications, CIS, PTC, and office train control, including inspections, inspectors, subcontractors, and consultants. Ensure compliance with FRA / CPUC regulations and SCRRA standards, manuals, and SOPs. Prepare work orders for non-compliance issues. Review corrective action work orders with management. Prepare and present quarterly inspection and work order reports. Pass required written tests, including SMM GCOR and on-track safety qualifications. Spend 50% of time in the field performing inspections and observations. Promote Herzog’s culture and ensure regular attendance and punctuality. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent; AA or BS/BA preferred. Training and certificates in electronics, railway signals, communications, PTC, CADD, and related fields. Familiarity with FRA & CPUC standards (AREMA), and qualifications in GCOR and SMM. Technical expertise in railway signals, communications, PTC, CADD, and infrastructure inspection. Good communication skills and experience with labor management. Pre-Employment Requirements: Background check, motor vehicle report, and physical examination. Valid driver's license and endorsements. Safety certifications and tests, updated annually. Physical Requirements: Lift up to 70 pounds; work in all weather and uneven surfaces. Walk up to 1 mile; climb ladders; push/pull up to 50 pounds. Use hands for forceful grasping; pass color/vision and auditory tests. Work around loud noise and heavy machinery; kneel, bend, squat, sit, and stand as needed.
