Rockville, MD +Compensation: $65k-$75k (Depending on overall experience) Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401K, parental leave, and PTO We’re partnering with a well-established construction firm in Rockville, MD to hire a Payroll Specialist on a direct hire basis. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with construction industry experience who is ready to take ownership of payroll operations and grow into a Payroll Manager role over time. Overview:

As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing and maintaining both office and field payroll. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Supervisor and be a key player in the company’s financial operations. Key Responsibilities:

Process in-house payroll for field and bi-weekly office employees Upload and manage time files in Sage 300 (formerly Timberline) Communicate with staff regarding timesheet corrections Review payroll edit reports and submit for approval Upload payroll files to the bank and handle direct deposit/check distribution Ensure timely and accurate tax deposits (federal & state) Record tax payments and garnishments in Sage 300 Prepare and submit certified payroll and benefit reconciliations Utilize online reporting tools (e.g., E-Mars, LCP Tracker, DLLR) Reconcile and pay benefits vendors, union dues, and fringes Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax returns Must-Have Qualifications:

5+ years of payroll experience , specifically in

construction Hands-on experience with certified payroll, in-house processing, and job cost reporting Knowledge of federal/state tax filing and garnishment procedures Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex schedules Strong communication skills and ability to grow into a leadership role Comfortable working with Sage 300 or similar payroll systems Nice to Have:

Experience using Sage 300 (Timberline) Familiarity with union payroll/fringe reporting Schedule:

Hours : 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Work Setup : Hybrid – 4 days in office, 1 day work from home Start Date : Targeting a start within 2 weeks Interview Process:
