Position Summary:
Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Section Chief to oversee the provision of all support needs for emergency incidents. This includes managing the ordering of resources, and providing support services such as facilities, transportation, supplies, equipment maintenance and fuel, food service, communications, and medical services to ensure the safety and effectiveness of incident personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the provision of all support needs for the incident
Order and manage the distribution of necessary resources including personnel, equipment, and supplies
Coordinate the provision and maintenance of facilities and transportation services
Ensure availability and distribution of fuel, food services, communications, and medical support for incident personnel
Maintain accountability and records of resource usage during the incident
Support the development and execution of the Incident Action Plan (IAP)
Liaise with other Section Chiefs to align operational support with overall response objectives
Provide real-time updates to Command staff regarding support status and resource availability
Ensure all support operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of work experience in emergency operations or logistics management
Extensive knowledge of incident support services, including transportation, facilities, and supply logistics
Strong leadership and coordination skills in high-pressure environments
Experience in resource tracking and emergency support planning
Proficiency in ICS structure and incident management tools
Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience serving as an Operations Section Chief in a State or Federal EOC
Advanced ICS training (ICS-300, ICS-400, and E/L/G-449 or equivalent)
Familiarity with WebEOC and incident logistics software
Knowledge of FEMA logistics systems and resource coordination protocols
Other Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship Required: Yes
Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)
Relocation Assistance: Not applicable
Clearance Required: None
Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment
Working Environment:
The work environment may include EOCs, field operations, or logistics centers. The role may require extended work hours beyond 12 hours per day and frequent travel to locations across the continental United States and its territories. Operations Section Chiefs must be adaptable to high-tempo and resource-constrained environments.
