Job Title: Lead Host / Maître d’ – Hell or High Water Restaurant

Overview:
Hell or High Water is seeking a poised and polished Lead Host / Maître d’ to serve as the first and lasting impression of our upscale dining experience. This leadership role goes beyond standard hosting—coordinating the front door with precision, managing the guest list with intention, and setting the tone for excellence in hospitality.
Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Presence
• Greet every guest with professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality
• Manage all reservations, walk-ins, and special requests using the reservation system
• Maintain awareness of guest preferences, pacing, and VIP experiences
• Handle guest concerns quickly and gracefully, ensuring satisfaction
Seating & Flow Management
• Oversee table assignments and dining room pacing to maximize flow and guest experience
• Communicate timing and table readiness with FOH and BOH teams
• Anticipate service needs and adjust the seating strategy in real time
Leadership & Coordination
• Train, schedule, and guide the host team to meet service standards
• Lead pre-shift discussions related to guest expectations and service strategy
• Maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and readiness of the host area
Operations & Standards
• Collaborate with management to resolve service issues during shifts
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping for reservations and waitlists
• Support opening and closing duties for the front-of-house team
Qualifications:
• 1+ years of host or maître d’ experience, ideally in upscale or fine dining
• Confident communicator with polished interpersonal skills
• Proven team leadership and coordination abilities
• Familiarity with reservation and POS systems (experience with Toast preferred)
• Ability to multitask with grace under pressure
Compensation & Benefits:
• Hourly pay: $17–$23 based on experience
