Overview: We are seeking a
hands-on Transportation Dispatch Supervisor / Specialist
to coordinate and monitor daily LTL and FTL truck movements between our distribution hubs and regional facilities. This role is key to ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of freight while maintaining strong relationships with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams.
Responsibilities: Oversee daily truck dispatch operations for both LTL and FTL shipments, ensuring on-time pick-ups and deliveries between warehouses and distribution centers. Assign loads, schedule drivers, and optimize routes based on volume, deadlines, and cost efficiency. Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and warehouse staff to address delays, equipment issues, or last-minute changes. Track shipments in real time using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or dispatch software. Monitor performance metrics such as on-time percentage, load utilization, and transit times. Maintain accurate load records, bills of lading, and other required documentation. Assist with cost control by selecting cost-effective carriers and negotiating competitive rates. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality. Provide basic guidance to junior dispatchers or coordinators as needed.
Qualifications: Hands-on experience in truck dispatch or transportation coordination, preferably with both LTL and FTL shipments. Business-level proficiency in English and Mandarin is highly preferred due to the nature of the role involving frequent communication with Mandarin-speaking clients or partners. Familiarity with U.S. trucking market practices, freight rates, and carrier options. Experience with TMS, routing software, or GPS tracking tools. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills for interacting with drivers, carriers, and internal teams. Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance is a plus.
