Overview:

Our client is seeking a tech-savvy and highly organized Legal Operations Specialist to support the implementation of a new matter and contract management system, assist with legal operations, and provide governance/compliance and administrative support. This interim role is designed to provide immediate support across a variety of departmental needs, including data migration, process improvement, system adoption and related quality control, with the potential to evolve into a long-term position. The ideal candidate is a proactive, tech-forward legal professional who enjoys building systems and improving processes. This person should be comfortable working in a small, high-functioning collaborative legal team and ready to step into a role that blends legal operations, governance, compliance, and general legal support.

Responsibilities Include: Provide legal operations support to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. Provide administrative, logistical, and governance support to the legal team, including board and committee material preparation, resolutions, and document execution. Support data migration and validation for the new contract and matter management system(s). Assist with workflow implementation for contract intake, tracking, and organization. Maintain and improve legal operations processes, including document and matter management and reporting. Support corporate governance and board-related workflows. Bridge the gap between legal and administrative functions, ensuring accuracy and transparency in legal records. Manage legal department records and calendars, track key dates for SEC filings, board actions, and contract renewals. Assist with SEC filings via EDGAR and conduct SEC research and analysis. Support legal technology implementation including data entry, migration, quality control, and user support. Provide support to corporate board governance as needed.

Qualifications Include: 5+ years of experience in a legal operations role. Strong familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems; experience with LawVu or similar platforms preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage data migration projects and validate legal data integrity. Experience supporting public company legal departments, especially in financial services, is a plus. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Curious and adaptable, with a willingness to expand skills and experience. Familiarity with AI-assisted legal workflows such as document review, clause extraction, and governance tracking.
