About the Role:
As Director of Sales , you will lead a high potential, growing team focused on delivering exceptional client solutions across California and the West region. Based in San Diego, this is a hands-on, in-market leadership role with a strong focus on team development, hotel partnerships, and driving strategic sales in both established and emerging markets.
You’ll work closely with clients, internal departments, and key hotel partners—to lead with vision, engage partner relationships, and coach the next generation of sales talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a regional sales team focused on California and emerging markets
- Coach and develop a high-energy team—bridging the gap between talent and experience through structured sales training, mentorship, and shadowing
- Strengthen hotel and industry partnerships through consistent in-market presence, proactive communication, and collaboration
- Foster a “creative-forward” sales approach, aligning client proposals with production capabilities
- Drive revenue through outbound prospecting, strategic partnerships, and relationship-building
- Set clear KPIs and performance metrics while creating space for coaching and team growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align sales strategy with operational and creative execution
- Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting via Salesforce and internal dashboards

About You:
You’re a hospitality-first sales leader who blends business acumen with emotional intelligence. You thrive on coaching others, earning trust, and creating space for collaboration and results.
- 10+ years of sales experience in DMC, events, or hospitality
- 3+ years in sales team leadership, with a track record of coaching and performance growth
- Deep knowledge of and relationships within the San Diego hotel ecosystem
- Confidence in client-facing roles—especially building rapport with hotel GMs and executives
- Strong Salesforce fluency—pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
- A warm, people-first leadership style—especially when mentoring newer team members
- Flexibility to travel regionally, including occasional visits to Napa, Seattle, and Portland
Work Schedule & Travel:
- This is an in-market leadership role —candidates must live in San Diego
- Minimum 3 days per week in office
- Light regional travel as needed to support emerging markets and partner engagement
