Compensation:

Salary Range: $59,051.20 to $146,150.58 (Governor's Exempt Salary Schedule - Pay Range 36)

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Law Enforcement Certification Board, the CEO oversees certification and discipline of police officers and public safety telecommunicators in New Mexico. The role involves supporting the Board's mission, collaborating with state agencies, managing databases, overseeing investigations, ensuring legal compliance, and developing policies.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Database management and technology development.
  2. Reporting and correspondence with stakeholders and legislative bodies.
  3. Policy development and legal compliance oversight.
  4. Certification application reviews and investigations.
  5. Legal coordination, case management, and training development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in policy administration, project management, budgeting, staff supervision, and data management.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement standards, legal processes, and state procurement.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills, with high ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced education in criminal justice, public administration, or related fields.
  • 15+ years in law enforcement or public safety, including 8+ years in management.
  • Experience with legislative processes and public policy development.
  • Proficiency in investigative techniques and legal procedures.

Additional Information:

  • Must work non-traditional hours and travel as needed.

  • Must have or obtain a valid New Mexico driver’s license.
  • This position is at-will and may be terminated at any time by the Board.
