Accounting Clerk - Wilmington, MA
We are seeking candidates for an Accounting Clerk position with a fast-growing home health organization located near Wilmington, MA. This position will report directly to the Director of Financial Operations and will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting functions, focusing on full-cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) and cash posting. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of accounting experience, specifically in A/P ideally in the healthcare industry.
This is a contract-to-hire position that will pay $25-28/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour work week. This position is required to be onsite 5 days per week in their office.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) functions, including matching purchase orders to invoices, coding expenses to appropriate general ledger accounts, and preparing A/P batches and check runs
  • Manage payment processes by coordinating approval signatures, issuing payments, and maintaining well-organized invoice records
  • Deliver professional and timely vendor support by addressing inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and prompt communication
  • Accurately post cash receipts and assist with account reconciliations and general ledger entries to support monthly closing processes
  • Provide ongoing accounting support to the Director of Financial Operations as needed
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online and the Generations Homecare System to manage financial data and transactions efficiently
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 1 year of accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Payable
  • Previous experience in the healthcare or home health industry is preferred
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or the Generations Homecare System is a plus
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
