Position Overview
With general supervision, the Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets will support operational processes affecting fixed asset records across US Utilities. Responsibilities include assisting in monthly fixed asset reviews, overseeing internal controls and unitization processes, and collaborating with Operations and support functions to improve efficiencies and ensure compliance with GAAP and FERC standards. The role involves reviewing transactions, addressing audit and tax queries, and supporting digital and growth initiatives.
The role requires effective cross-functional collaboration with IT, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, Operations, and Finance.
Basic Requirements
- BS in Accounting/Finance
- Five years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong organizational and professional skills
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in Utility, Power, or Energy industry
- Experience with fixed asset subledger accounting
- Knowledge of US Utility industry accounting and FERC principles
- Experience with SAP ERP and Power Plant systems
- Knowledge of month-end close processes
- CPA certification preferred
