This Director of Infectious Disease position is a .6 FTE clinical and a .4 FTE administrative role.
3 days per week will be clinical, and 2 days will be administrative.
The Director of Infectious Disease supports the Medical Director in overseeing the Infectious Disease specialty.
Responsibilities include reviewing service recovery reports (patient complaints), overseeing the Methodist Scholars and Fellowship program, acting as the legacy point of contact, overseeing referral workflows, and managing grant execution.
Assist with supervision of federal and state-funded grants related to infectious disease at Legacy.
Develop and update infection control policies and procedures, and manage acute infection episodes at any Legacy site.
Participate in clinician hiring, onboarding, and recruitment.
Contribute to adult patient (18+) vaccine updates per latest guidelines.
Support clinicians with workflow issues, provide in-basket coverage as needed, and participate as backup on call.
Participate in clinical and operational meetings, and assist with clinician schedule utilization.
Oversee the quality of the infectious disease team and ensure departmental goals are met.
In collaboration with the MD, conduct performance reviews as required.
Lead service line-specific provider meetings if the MD is unavailable.
Assist in organizing team-building activities.
Schedule at least one half-day per week at the clinic site and maintain regular clinic hours as determined with the Medical Director.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include graduation from an accredited medical school (MD or DO), board certification in a primary specialty (Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Practice), and credentialing according to Legacy standards.
Two years of leadership experience are required, preferably at an FQHC.
