Cash Application Specialist

3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for managing and recording cash transactions accurately and efficiently. This role supports the integrity of financial operations by posting daily cash activities, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures. It requires frequent collaboration with departments such as accounting, treasury, and retail locations. Core Responsibilities: Collect and post Daily Cash Reports (DCRs) from store locations into the general ledger. Assist in onboarding and training new team members on cash handling procedures and system workflows. Investigate and address banking issues, including ACH filters, wire failures, and positive pay exceptions. Record daily retail lending transactions (e.g., customer financing payments) into appropriate accounts. Ensure physical checks are scanned and deposited accurately and promptly. Reconcile regional bank accounts and assist with month-end financial close activities. Coordinate with stores to resolve chargebacks quickly, typically within 2448 hours. Manage returned checks, including follow-up with stores to ensure timely resolution. Oversee accurate transfer of commissions from escrow to operational accounts as needed. Support accurate and timely month-end close and reporting processes. Carry out additional tasks to support the finance team and broader organizational goals. Key Performance Measures: Execute monthly bank reconciliations and close activities with accuracy and timeliness. Ensure all cash activity is correctly documented, reconciled, and posted to the general ledger with minimal errors. Support compliance with internal cash application protocols and ensure consistent adherence across retail and finance teams. Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments to foster open communication and efficiency. Seniority level
