As a Health & Safety Engineer, candidates that are initially deemed qualified will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry best practices. Through audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and training programs, you’ll help create a safer workplace while minimizing environmental impact.
What You’ll Do :
Support the implementation and maintenance of site-specific environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and JSR requirements.
Collect and analyze data on incidents, accidents, environmental emissions, and other EHS performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Assist in developing and delivering engaging EHS training programs to educate employees and promote a culture of safety.
Support safety engagement initiatives and foster a proactive safety mindset across the organization.
Conduct site safety inspections and actively contribute to the safety committee to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and support the implementation of effective corrective actions.
Assist in hazard and risk assessments, environmental impact evaluations, and EHS audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations and strategic initiatives.
What you Bring :
Experience: 3–5 years in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) roles.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations at both state and federal levels.
EHS Expertise: Familiarity with safety and environmental requirements, assessments, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat for reporting, data analysis, and training materials.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
40-hour Hazwoper Certification
Work Schedule & Location
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Worksite: On-site in Sunnyvale, CA
Travel: Less than 5% expected
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry materials as needed
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing
Extended use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical protection
Respirator medical clearance required

Salary Range - $90,000 / yr to $110,000 / yr
